Where to start - tent bag

New postby temom on Wed Mar 26, 2008 8:57 pm

Our nylon tent bag has pretty much fallen apart, so I thought I would make a new one. The webbing and zipper are fine, so I took those off the old bag. I measured it, and thought I'd make another since we are to go camping in just a few weeks. I took the bag apart to see how it was made.
The webbing which is the handles.
The zipper
Two circles for the ends
A rectangle for the body.

So now I'm wondering what order to put it together

Webbing, zipper, circles?
Webbing, circles, zipper?

A different order?

Any suggestions?

I made a duffel bag out of the same kind of pieces.
Zipper first on each short side of the rectangle. This was a completely separating by-the-yard kind of zipper so it was easy to put one side on each end.
Then the strap went on in a continuous loop.
Then the circles at each end of the bag.

The bag had a zip pocket on one end and a pocket inside that you don't have to bother with.
