Embroidery Designs

New postby jKipler on Thu Sep 10, 2009 5:21 pm

So I'm a really big fan of Embroidery, I recently finished a pattern for my family. I sewed my family in it as stick figures and put borders in and everything. It looks wonderful! (not to toot my own horn). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for embroidery patterns. I've found some here but I want a large variety.

I am assuming that you are talking aobut machine embroidery?? there are great sites that send you to free downloads...Martha Pullen has a machine embroidery site; Sewforum.com is also a wealth of info...If you are doing this by hand, then someone else will have to jump in here for you...and welcome to this site...hope you enjoy our company...Paula

Chysantha posted a nice selection of machine embroidery sites, and most of them have free designs that you can download.

Ann the gran used to have quite a few free emboidery designs, but since the site went commercial the free designs seem to have dwindled. http://www.annthegran.com/
The Machine specific sites also have a few designs, they change them maybe monthly (do a google search for the maker, bernina, brother, viking, etc) The secrets of embroidery site also has some free ones, you do have to enroll for these. http://www.secretsof.com/embroiderytips ... esigns.htm
Here are some disney designs from Russia, probably illegal http://www.needlework.ru/dysn4eng.htm
Google is your friend, and you can find all kinds of emboidery designs using it -- free and the nicer paid designs.

With your Bernina, you should be able to digitize your own designs as well??? Though sometimes I find it's faster to find one on line and even pay for it rather than spend the time digitizing it.
