I am in love....

....with a Simplicity Easy Lock 804SP serger that a friend GAVE me yesterday. I am the 3rd person to possess this machine after the original owner decided she didn't want it anymore. Her gentleman friend bought it for her to alter his work uniform and he is now retired and she doesn't use the machine. Don't know why the next person passed it along. The person who gave it to me doesn't do the kind of sewing that would use a serger (in her words) so she called and asked if I wanted it. I had some flannel that I was going to use to make burp cloths for the twins. I impressed DH by whipping them out in about 5 minutes with this new puppy! He had never seen a machine that cuts the fabric as it sews...lol.

I hope my love affair continues.

Pam, that's wonderful. Yesterday, I whipped up some tote bags on the serger. Today, I just have to finish the adding the straps & then I'll post photos. I love my sergers.

Enjoy your new friend.
I have a kind of love/hate relationship with my serger.

Wow, you're in love and your dh even approves! How cool is that?? Enjoy your serger. (Weird. My auto-spell check doesn't approve of the word "serger". Stupid spell check! )

I have alwasy said that a serger is like a microwave. You did not know what you were missing till you got one and now, life will not go on without it. Congradulations and have fun. Just watch your pins and here the fabric is underneath.
