Sure hoping that this is a typo...and the books were $1.50 each. Otherwise, I'd be having a heart attack!!!

Heehee. I'd be damned impressed if "Barb on a budget" could budget that well! And I'd also think that Nancy was a little too proud of her books!

The book would have to be solid gold or silver for me to spend that much!

Hope you enjoy your B'day Barb. I have the Viking Lily which looks very similar. It has embroidery stitches and the alphabet. I don't use them often but one Christmas I made tags for afghans for all the grand kids. Easy as pie with the memory. I use the darning stitch frequently as DH is hard on his jeans, as is DSIL.

I am printing the instructions right now. I found a download for $10. I messaged the person who sold it to me & told her the missing bed piece is the accesory kit. Told her if she finds it I will be happy to pay for it.

Barb, assuming the machine is in good condition, I think you got a great deal! There's one on ebay right now (sold by our local Viking dealer) for $499 with a Buy it Now price of $599.

Hopefully your seller will find the acccessories, but if not, you might be able to find them on ebay. Or order them, but that would probably be a little more expensive -- I have a Viking serger and have noticed anything specifically for it tends to be expensive... :|

I played with it a little tonight. I did use most of the stitches but only have 1 foot so the heavier stitches didn't look as nice.
I hope she finds them otherwise I will have to collect them 1 at a time unles I find someone selling them. I am sure if she finds them she will let me know since they really won't do her much good

Barb, check out the forum, " Sew It's For Sale" on Yahoo. I get their emails three times per day. It's an intensive site with lots and lots of posts of sewing items for sale. Someone was selling all kinds of Viking feet just the other day. Don't remember if they sold but you can do a search. Seems like a very good site. Don't forget Craig's List as well. Beth is right, Viking feet and accessories are very expensive. My walking foot was $89.00 or so. Ridiculous.

Thanks Lennie. With school starting I am going to give her a little time to look before I spend any more money. I will check out those sites though when I am ready to buy
