Yesterday I spent an hour and a half at my sewing area, but didn't sew a stitch. I spent the whole time trying to figure out what is wrong with dd's featherweight. After the hour and a half, I took her to the big box store. We picked out a Brother SQ 9000, and I have to say that I'm envious! I have a Viking Platinum 770, and boy oh boy, this little brother is nice!
It has a bunch of different feet, including a dual feed foot (I spent $100 on mine), a free motion quilting foot, and just about anything else you would want. It is so easy to use, has about 90 different stitches, and very simple to use monograming. It has an extension table for quilting, and the button holes look easier to do on this machine than mine!
DD had to go to work with me, and she took her new machine and set up shop in my office. She had a blast! She checked out most of the stitches, and even made a little tissue holder for her purse. Both of us are very happy with this machine, and she has promised me that I can use it sometime!
Oh, she also helped pay for it. She gave 30% of her savings, and paid a whole $1.00 - The kid needs to figure out how to earn more money, lol!
