I now have a Viking serger as well which is brand new and seems really well made and easy to use

So Lennie, it is "easy to use now?"

I have Brother Innovis 4000D which I quite like, but honestly if I was to get a replacement for this one, I'd go back to a Pfaff. I have my mom's very old Pfaff and it is such a workhorse. The IDF foot is the best thing ever on a machine. I like certain things on my Brother, but I find the Pfaff is a better machine for just sewing. For me, an automatic needle threader, a bobbin out light and an automatic thread cutter are also very high on my list of have to haves. Yet ultimately it is the dealer that seals the deal, that's for sure. I really like the Brother dealer I have, even though they are very far away from me (1 hr) when there are closer dealers with other brands.
