Jeanette, you have a nice collection. Do you enjoy your treadle? I have wanted one forever but don't have any space for one right now. Maybe in a few years when DD moves out on her own but I know we will have her here for at least 5 more years. She turns 21 on Wednesday but is on a mission trip right now.

Wow, we have a lot of machines!!
I have a Brother Innovis 4000D which I quite like
A Pfaff 1471, an oldie but a goodie. I love it for quilting, but it only has 4.5" space so a big quilt is really hard to do!!
A Janome Mylock 234D serger
A Janome 900 Coverstitch
A dead Pfaff 1471 (my MIL"s, I'll keep it for parts) in the closet
A very old Pfaff 1012 I think, it was from a school home ec class so it's really scratched up, but all metal and is another workhorse, but only does straight and zigzag plus i only have 1 foot for it. It's in a table under my coverstitch machine.

If and that's a big IF I ever get another machine, it will be a Pfaff. I like the Brother, but I'm a Pfaff woman at heart.

I still have my first machine DH bought me when the baby was still a baby. A Viking 64 30. It has been a work horse over the years. My newest machine is a Viking Lily. My serger is a White Speedylock 234.

Let's see, I have my Pfaff Expression 4.0, which speakes for itself; a wonderful all around sewing/quilting machine which has the 10" arm in it;

my beautiful little Featherweight, which I don't use nearly as much as I should,;

my deceased MIL's Singer Treadle in wonderful condition and sews a perfectly straight stitch;

my Singer Quantum 3400 which sews perfecty and whch DH teases me about being a "very expensive" bobbin winder

my Futura 350 embroidery/sewing machine (I keep it set up for embroidery only; and

last, but not least, my Juki 4 thread serger, which I love and with which I have never had one minute of trouble.

I'm not Jeanette, but I will answer the question on the treadle. I love mine, it will sew through anything. Oh, and Marty, you can use it to hold another machine that you already have, so you don't have to wait for someone to move out to get one.

While I would love to have a treadle machine, I have no space to put one. My Pfaff 7570 & serger sit in a Horn Cabinet (#2078) that DH bought for me when he bought my machines. The other machines are are stashed under the dining table, on a bookcase, under the entry hall table, in dining room chairs, etc. All are threaded & get used at the dining table when I run them each month to keep them working. My travel machine sits in its case under my Horn cabinet ready to go out the door when I am.

A Janome MC 6500P that I bought in 2004 when I wanted to get into machine quilting and this is my main machine. Just love it.
A Kenmore 385.19110 that I bought in 2006 and use to take to classes. It has the needle up & down and speed control and saves my back as toting the 6500 is a pain. Also keep it setup in my spare room for when I want to do some sewing and I the 6500 is being used to quilting a quilt.
A Janome My Lock 134D serger - belonged to my friend who passed away and I bought it from her daughter. I haven't even tried it yet...that is on my list of things to do one of these days... :whistle:

This may be a bit of an old thread (pardon the resurrection), but I am seriously thinking of getting a Janome MC 6500P in the near future. Just gather user reports and reviews. Does it still stand up to modern competition?
Thanks
Joey

Joey, I own a 6600p and it is "the cats meow". It will sew through 6 layers of upholstery leather.
There is a yahoo forum for 6500p owners.

I have a Janome MC 4000. Not what you inquired about, but It is a JEWEL! ! I have had it since 1993 or 94, and never spent a dime on it.. I cannot tell you how many thousands of hours of time it has stood up to and never failed me, not once. It has 2 alphabets in with all the pretty stitches it will do. The letters are about 3/4 of an inch. Just perfect for monogramming mens Hankies.. You should see the men smile when I present them with the little tokens of remembrance. That is just one of many itmes my Janome makes me happy with. I do love my machine.
