Reduce stress

Just read an article stating that working with textiles lowers stress levels. It said too much of the brain is involved in the needleworks (knitting, sewing etc) for it to worry/stress. I know for me sitting at my machines or knitting always puts me in my own little world and my blood pressure goes down and my worries fade away for a while..

Handcrafts are a great way to blob out and not think about work and other life stressors.
Good to do brain gymnastics to get the pattern to fit or work out how much fabric does a quilt need.

Yes, sewing is so much a part of my lifestyle that going without sewing as I had to do for almost 6 weeks made me more anxious. I totally believe that your article was true, Brockie. Sewing is so relaxing and enjoyable, time slips away from me.

I hand pieced a quilt when I had to sit everyday for I/v treatments for couple of weeks. Also filled in appointment waiting time.

I gave the quilt to a friend who approeciated the significance of the work that went into making it.
