Last night, I had downloaded a picture and turned my laptop to my husband so he could see the photo and the screen went black. It will not turn on even moving the power cord to another plug or using my hubby's power cord. It's as if my computer is totally dead. Since it is less than 2 yfs old, I will have to take it back to Best Buy's Geek Squad (have a contract). Not a happy camper right now because of this. Don't have funds for a big repair bill at this time. I'm using hubby laptop while he naps. So, if I'm not online, it's because I can't use one of our computers. Marty
Sorry to hear Marty. Seems computers have turned into our lifelines so to speak and we are lost without them when they break. I don't do well trying to figure things out on a computer (or anything technical actually) so DH is left to try to fix all. Our computers have their tic and twitches that absolutely drive me bonkers at times. Do hope what ever the problem is with your laptop is covered under your warranty and you'll be back on line quickly.
Right now, I'm using hubby's computer to check email and my forums as well as FB. I talked to the Geek Squad tech and he seems to think that it will be warranted and they may have to give me another computer. After dinner, hubby & I will make the 10 mile drive to Best Buy and leave it with the Geek Squad to repair or replace. I use my computer constantly so am lost without it. Earlier, I checked some email with my daughter's Ipad but will use hubby's off & on until I get my computer back. Marty
Yippee!!! My computer is fixed. Thank you, Best Buy ... the battery had slipped a fraction of an inch out of its slots and that is why it wouldn't work. Once the tech pulled out the battery and put it back in, it worked perfectly. He showed me how he did it so I will know what to try next time this happens. Marty
