Exciting News

My daughter, Sarah, got her first acceptance phone call to graduate school. She has been accepted into the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta for a Master's of Divinity degree and ordained as a deacon. Yippee!!! This was her #1 choice of graduate schools.

Congrats to Sarah , Marty. I know several young people that have graduated from Emory lately. They all loved it there. It is popular with Charlotteams and of course its only a little less than 4 hours away down I-85 which makes it convenient.

Libby, she's still waiting to hear from Boston University, Wesley Theological, Duke Divinity and Perkins School of Theology at SMU in Dallas, TX. She wants to become an ordained deacon in the Methodist Church.

My son got exciting news yesterday also. His final $10,275 of Federal Student Loans was forgiven by the government! He works in a disadvantaged school district as a math teacher and there is a Federal forgiveness program that he applied to and was accepted. He has worked a second job as mall security to make the loan payments and has wanted to quit for some time now. His wife told him to give notice two weeks ago, and last night was his final shift to work. When he got home he had the email from Sallie Mae showing that the payment was made. His comment to me was "don't you think it's ironic that my forgiveness came on my last night to work?" My response to him "it was a perfectly timed answer to prayer!"

Both of my mother's parents were Methodist ministers.

Momquilts, love hearing the happy news about the loan too!
