Just to let y'all know, I have deactivated my Facebook account. We're getting ready to undergo some major renovations and changes in our lives so I have closed the account as I don't have time to spend on it. Anyone can PM me for my phone number or email address. I will keep up with this forum but have unsubscribed from the 30+ sewing groups that I was on. I could not keep up with the emails so everything was deleted and I unsubscribed.

The best part is now you don't have to worry about relatives, etc., "unfriending" you on Facebook anymore! It used to take work to end a friendship but now people can do it with one click and you may never even know the reason! Good riddance to Facebook, I say.

Change isn't always easy, so good luck for the upcoming renovations and such.

And, I'm happy that you decided to stay active on this forum, even while cancelling your account on 30 other sewing forums!

30??? It is surprising you had enough time to brush your teeth! I have a few and spend way too much time on the internet. Wishing you well in your changes and look forward to seeing you here.

Exactly, I used to work with people who unfriended me on facebook, I have no idea why, since we still worked together... oh well... I learned not too care about it.. I carried on with new friends and a new work.. and went on..

I sleep in 2-3 hr increments during the day or night and would get on the computer when I couldn't sleep. I signed up on FB to keep up with my large extended family and what is happening in their lives plus friends who live far away. However, we're undergoing some house renovations in another week. Before then, I have to do some major cleaning & purging of clutter plus rearranging furniture. My daughter will be graduating college and moving away from home within the next 4 months too. I just don't have a lot of free time as I used to have when I would have to stay on bedrest for weeks at a time. I will get back on it when things settle down. However, right now, I don't have time to keep up with everyone. I will stay on this forum because I need ideas for sewing and love to see what others are creating. I also have a lot of sewing blogs that I can read for inspiration too. My laptop and the internet has opened many new doors for me plus I have made so many new friends who share the craft that I love which is sewing.

I am glad you let us know what was going on! otherwise I would have worried that you were sick again. Good luck with the renovations! Sounds like we will both be empty nesters about the same time. Sandy plans to move out into her own place this summer. I am sure your nest will be emptier than mine though since I will still have the grandkids here for most of the summer

Good for you, Marty. I know a lot of people who used to be on FB and deactivated, as it was just taking way too much time and caused a lot of drama. I don't think any of them have gone back to facebook!
Good luck with the renovations. It can be quite the adventure, so try to always keep your sense of humor!
