Computer search engine

New postby bridesmom on Sun Sep 23, 2012 8:04 pm

I've been using iGoogle for my search page for a number of years and now Google has decided to get rid of it. I liked it because I had my email on the page as well as a list of my favorite websites, and a few other gadgets. Now I will need to look for something new. What do you use and why do you like it?

I use AOL for email (free) & Internet Explorer for a search engine. I'm not a big fan of google or gmail even though I have an account. Good luck on your search.

Yes, AOL is still around & I use it all of the time for email & to catch up on the news. I like having only one email address for my primary use. It has unlimited storage for all of my folders with emails going back to 2003 when I got my first computer.

I got so much junk mail (including porn) on AOL I had to change. Gmail seems to sort out the junk mail. AOL comes up on Internet Explorer but I use Google for a browser. I haven't had much luck with Internet Explorer.

I like DuckDuckGo. Unlike the other search engines (Google, etc.) which record every search you've ever made and build a huge profile of you, DuckDuckGo records absolutely nothing and keeps everything private.
