Hello everyone ,thanks for the add
I am new on here I am trying to find some help with this frustrating supposedly easy pattern Butterick 5529 A I cant get the draping figured out or the pleating and I am not a sewing newbie they need more pictures and better instructions :x thanks for any help I went on their site and complained

I love the cocoon look. wish I could sew along with you. Perhaps Marty will chime in here or some of our other sewers.

Zinnia, If you get it figured out. Please post where to get the correct info. Perhaps Butterick help desk will give you some guidance. I would like to try this. Perhaps it is the jumpstart I need to get back to sewing. I have a light weight wool that I could line with a light weight satin and have a warm wrap for winter.

It looks to me like youhave to construct the gathered part like a cumberbund. (Gather 1 layer and sew to a flat layer???) I may be wrong, but part of it just looks like it is gathered on each individual piece and then they are sewed together. I am only going by the looks on A.

Welcome Zina to the group. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the Butterick pattern mentioned so I cannnot help you with that one. I do hope that you will enjoy the group, post some pics and join in on the chatter.
