Now Available: Sew What's New Archive

New postby kaitlinnegan on Sat Aug 25, 2007 8:29 am

Hi all,

With MaryW's permission, the archive of the old posts (all 97,650 of them!) from Sew What's New is now up and running -- you'll find the link at the upper right corner of each page or click here: Sew What's New Archive. You can search the archive using the search box at the top of the archive - it is set up best for searching rather than browsing. There are still a few minor glitches (posts with really long web addresses in them or very large pictures may not display properly), but these will be worked out soon. Enjoy!

~Kaitlin

PS - You'll notice some Google ads on that part of the site - we have added these to help defray the costs of operating this site. There are not any pop-ups or spyware on the site. I think DH has done a good job of making them fairly unobtrusive.

Thank you!! I definitely couldn't have done anything like that on Sewing Friends!

I just wanted to make sure I understand the Google ads correctly. for you all to gain any income from them, the members have to click on them, is that right? I just want to make sure I do my part to keep this site up and running! I'll be happy to click away if that is how it works :D

Don't click on the ads unless they are something you are actually interested in since it does cost the advertiser money every time someone clicks on an ad - the ads are more for people who visit the site from places like Google (once we get indexed there) rather than the actual contributing members. We may actually remove the ads for people who are registered users but keep them for the guests. They are really for the people who are "just passing through," if you know what I mean. :)
